Bill Kirton
 from Facebook
Simply because we need to keep reminding ourselves that some of us are still relatively sane (although that'll be read by some as hubris), I offer the opening verse of a little parody. You're welcome to add verses of your own.
Hey! Mr. Tangerine man, what is wrong with me?
I'm confused and just don’t know what place we’re going to.
Hey! Mr. Tangerine man, what is wrong with me?
With your jingle jangle half-brain I'm not following you.
Though I know that humankind will only finish up as sand
Vanish from the land
Leave no-one here to stand after the weeping,
Your idiotic posturing in every manic tweet
Will hasten our defeat,
Bring emptiness to streets which once were teeming.
Hey! Mr. Tangerine man, what is wrong with me?
I'm confused and just don’t know what place we’re going to.
Hey! Mr. Tangerine man, what is wrong with me?
With your jingle jangle half-brain I'm not following you.

The current political circumstances in which the USA finds itself consumes me these days.  I find myself unable to write about the racism, the bitterness, the dishonesty that we face in the moment.  One day when I have had the opportunity to sort through my reaction to this entire morass of meanness, I will write. In the meantime there are moments when Facebook gives me material that I am willing to share here.  Today, one of those posts caught my attention and so I share with you via Bill Kirton.  Feel free to add verses of your own.

Being Present

Being present
In a relationship you are missing
a space you no longer fill)
A deep well threatens to run dry

It only rains
because the earth calls forth the clouds

The sun only rises
because humanity seeks the dawn

-->
We love because we are loved.
